The journey to an overlanding trip of a lifetime!

46 campsites / lodges / chalets

19 500 kilometres

3 countries

9 border crossings (2 somewhat illegal and momentarily!)

5 covid tests

3 months of planning

1 shredded tyre

2 car services

1 written off vehicle

3 traffic fines

16 500 photos

440 beers (give or take!)

92 sunsets

Countless plasters, cable ties, imaginary animal sightings, potholes and dust

A lifetime of dreams all coming together into one epic journey of a lifetime…

The ‘Bridge’ at Spitzkoppe.

Like many a good Hollywood movie script, this story starts at the end, allowing for just enough intrigue to build up, leaving the viewer with more questions than answers and giving just enough away to get them to stay in order to find out where it all began and how it got to this point…

In this series of blog posts I will take you through my very own journey, during which I was able to realise my dreams.  Along the way I will share with you how the devastation of covid allowed me to finally chase those dreams, introduce the main characters involved, throw in some plot twists and lead you on to the credits at the end, leaving you in a place to hopefully take over the reins and realise that your dream overlanding journey can be fulfilled too.

And if this  does not quite do enough to get you to come back for more, perhaps just a few of these photos will do the trick.
