About Madagascar
Being an island you would expect for all roads to lead to the beach in Madagascar, but this is certainly not the case. In fact, Madagascar is perhaps known for its indigenous wildlife, most often not found anywhere else in the world. Situated 400 kilometres off the east coast of Africa, the island of Madagascar also plays host to many dramatic landscapes including the knife-edged monoliths at Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park and the much photographed avenue of Baobabs. The north of the island perhaps plays host to most of the tourists, in particular Nosy Be, with its idyllic swimming and diving conditions. As you travel further south, things get less busy but still offers much for the adventurous spirit with destinations such as Sainte Marie Island, Isalo National Park and Andasibe-Mantadia National Park.
